Misty grew up in a small mining town in central Nevada, and enjoyed an amazing childhood running wild and free in the beautiful Nevada desert. From a young age, she knew that she wanted to help others and made it her goal to become an elementary education teacher. While completing student teaching, she took a job as a receptionist in a family law office and quickly found her true passion- the law- changing her professional direction and focus. She first earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and immediately entered the Paralegal Certificate program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Upon completion, she took the Paralegal Certification exam and passed the first time. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work in the court system and with law firms practicing civil, estate planning, bankruptcy, criminal and family law. As a paralegal for Marilyn York, she enjoys the practice of family law, helping to keep families intact and supporting fathers, who many times the law doesn’t favor.
In her spare time, Misty enjoying continuing her education and has earned a Master’s degree in Judicial Management from the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada, Reno. You will also frequently find her filling a Karma Box or two in downtown Reno. Together with her family, she enjoys spending weekends off-roading, camping and fishing in northern Nevada.
