When you write your bio, please consider –

If a potential client reads the bios on our website, he ought to be able to decide based upon that whether or not to hire us.

Try to make a connection with readers by presenting a business side and personal side to relate to clients. Be friendly, smile while you are talking about yourself (in writing, of course). If you share your Nevada or Reno roots it will make you more trustworthy and credible. Perhaps the reader went to your high school. If you share some of your hobbies or interests, that could make a connection.

Throw in a testimonial paragraph.  Explain your passion for family law, men’s rights, children, and how much you love helping people solve their serious problems.  Explain how great of a staff we have and how working for Marilyn fits your own goals and style. Talk Marilyn up a bit. Explain how the office business side and legal side are so exceptional.

Include details but not necessarily the date, if recent, of any college degrees or any Paralegal Certificate.

Use the first person (I was….). Do not date yourself as to how long you have worked here if you have worked here for less than 3 years.

Try to sprinkle in some keywords for search engines such as “divorce”, “family law”, children”, “child”

Use a little humor or color to break the ice. Ray, Chantel, and Mollie will help you as much or as little as you like. You will have the chance to approve your bio before it is published.

Read your Bio once in a while and improve or update it.
