Referrals vs Reviews
Testimonials Google Reviews Yelp Reviews
Attorneys are not generally hired to keep both parties happy and therefore are in business to please their clients, not their opposing clients who many times end up very angry. Such strong feelings all too often result in a bad attorney review from a person that was never a client and should therefore never been allowed to misuse the review process.
Reviews should be restricted to verified customers or clients only, but they are not. Unfortunately, active powerful attorneys are going to get some bad reviews from doing a really good job.
Family law attorney reviews are still important but a 4.0 (four-star) average or better should be considered good. Getting referrals or actual testimonials from people you know is better than merely relying on reviews. Getting a family law attorney recommendation from local attorneys that do not practice family law is also good.
