Blanca Black, Receptionist and Legal Assistant
Yes, my name does translate to “white black”; but before you make the joke, know that my husband was to first to make it. It was actually one of the first lines he ever said to me. Yes, cheesy, but I married him so the line worked! I’ve lived in Reno for what seems like my entire life, but I was actually born in Lima, Peru. My parents moved my three siblings and me to the states when I was five years old and after some short stints in Florida and New Jersey we settled in Reno. I have loved Reno ever since I moved here and my husband and I could not ask for a more diverse and exciting environment to raise our family.
After making my way through many different subjects of study in college, I decided to get on with my life and put my work ethic to good use, advancing my career working in the field I always loved, medicine. There I learned many of the ins and outs and where I could go in the medical field, but eventually became excited to get away from the regulatory and insurance squeezing ways that had become all too normal. I was driven to explore other career options.
I knew that working in Family Law would be a good fit for me. I was fortunate enough to grow up with divorced parents that always did an amazing job of putting their differences aside to maintain a positive front while raising us four kids. This type of childhood was great for me as my relationship with my father has always kept me grounded and I was able to see him often. I have seen my large family go through this divorce in a very positive way and I look forward to assisting my coworkers to achieve a similar outcome for our clients. I love continuing to learn more about Family Law every day and I see Marilyn’s focus to help men maintain their stature and family relationships as very honorable. I am excited to add my diverse culture and background to the team to help connect with and understand our clients.
